Resumes

President/Proprietor of ADI American Distributors Inc, David Beck

Education
Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, William Paterson College, 1980
Masters of Business Administration, Fairleigh Dickenson University, 1984

David began his career in electronics working as a contract administrator and purchasing agent for Lucas Aerospace. He opened the US based purchasing division for Lucas in 1981. As a contract administrator he managed the AV8B fuel control system program and performed liaison duties with Government DCAS and DOD personnel. In 1982 David began working for Pioneer Standard where he had responsibility for key accounts including ITT Avionics. He increased sales by 40% during his tenure at Pioneer.

In 1984 he took over ADI, then a division of Resnet, Whippany NJ. He has taken ADI, a startup, to annual sales exceeding $10 million. His direction and leadership have brought ADI a loyal base of domestic and international customers doing commercial and military business.

Engineering Manager, Craig Borax

Education
Master of Engineering, California Polytechnic Institute, 1982
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, New Jersey Institute of Technology, 1980

Craig Borax began has 17 years of broad experience with emphasis on building intelligent power conversion equipment. Craig began his career at General Dynamics Pomona Division where he designed and integrated computers for missile launching systems and radar systems. Craig also designed the control electronics for the Air Launched STINGER missile system before going to Trilectron Industries.

As Vice President of Research and Development at Trilectron, Craig developed new products combining his expertise in power electronics with his digital electronics experience. A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) based 60 kVA frequency converter (60-400Hz) was a result of that synergy. Craig also developed several other large power converter designs including:

  • A 70 kW phase-shift resonant switching converter for the F-22 Aircraft.
  • A micro-computer based programmable battery charger analyzer.
  • A programmable precision 60KW DC source that has become the standard ATE power supply for NASA’s Space Station subcontractors. The sources use MOSFETs as linear post regulators to obtain state of the art transient, ripple, dynamic range and regulation performance.
  • Microprocessor based real-time controls for generator fault protection, three phase SCR gating control and 400 Hz generator controls. Craig served as Program Manager and Chief engineer on several multi-million dollar design/development/manufacturing programs including the F-22 External Power Converter (EPC) program. He developed and supervised the development of numerous technical reports in accordance with military standards such as Safety Analysis, Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis, Reliability, Integrity and EMI. Craig also has developed numerous industrial control and power conversion products. Two of the military projects were a 90 kW DC power supply for a US Navy Submarine Oxygen Generator and a portable DC power source for the US Marine Corps rated at 3 kW.

After more than nine years at Trilectron, Craig founded Tidal Engineering to consult on system, hardware and software design. Craig continues to use his experience in industrial controls, DSP hardware and software, Windows (tm) programming, power electronics, hardware design and packaging.

Engineering Supervisor, Milton Rosen

Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Iowa State University
Servo System Analysis program at the Servo Laboratory of M.I.T.
Navy V-12 Program and Engineering Officer

Milton Rosen is our Engineering Supervisor and Sales Engineer. Milt has extensive creative and innovative engineering experience in the design, fabrication, testing and sales of magnetic and electronic systems. Milt has organized and supervised groups for start up companies and divisions. Milt began his engineering career in the US Navy as an engineering officer while on the Navy V-12 Program. During his Naval career he completed his BSEE degree at Iowa State University. Milt assisted in the design of instrumentation and control for nuclear reactors. His efforts resulted in system qualification and these systems became fully operational aboard US Navy vessels. After leaving the Navy Milt completed the rigorous Servo System Analysis program at the Servo Laboratory of M.I.T.

After the Navy, Milt lead the engineering teams of the leading power electronics companies of the time Bogue Electric Co. and Basler Electric Co. Milt also spent several years building a company based on his renowned expertise called Milro Controls Co. Milt has innovated in many areas. He developed the first commercially available digital over-current relay for use by utilities and large industrial users. After building the sales of Milro (MIltonROsen) controls to one million annually he sold it to Ward Leonard Electric.

In the last ten years Milt started the Metglas Products division of Allied Signal Corporation as Senior Scientist/Manager Electromagnetic Applications. There he optimized design of amorphous metal cores for oil filled distribution transformers. Milt designed and built high efficiency power transformers and reactors using amorphous metal cores. Units have been built and installed in some utility systems for life test evaluation.
